Canadian Website Ranks NIMASA’s Tumaka Among Top 100 Global PR Practitioners
EvanCarmichael.com has named the Head of Public Relations of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Hajiya Lami Tumaka, amongst the top 100 global Public Relations practitioners for potentials proteges to follow.
The award is in recognition of Tumaka’s passion for professionalism in the practice of Public Relations.

Tumaka’s core Public Relations experience spans over two decades, having been Public Relations Manager as far back as 1991 with the Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN) Limited, Kaduna State, North-West Nigeria, for several years before joining the services of the then National Maritime Authority (NMA) in 1998.
As Head of Public Relations in NIMASA, the successor of the defunct NMA, Tumaka is responsible for managing the image of Nigeria’s apex maritime regulatory organ.
A Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), she holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature and Master’s Degree in Business Administration both from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Kaduna State. She also earned a Certificate in Basic Film Production from the Television College, Jos, Plateau State, North-Central Nigeria and a Diploma in Public Relations from Holborn College, London, United Kingdom (UK).
Tumaka has won a number of awards in the course of her professional career, including the Maritime Media Woman of the Year and the Best Maritime Industry Public Relations Officer.
Described as a happy grandmother, her hobbies include continuous development, reading and travelling and meeting people.
