Brainstorming workshop on the access of local and regional governments in Africa to Climate Finance

The workshop will be an opportunity to provide concrete ideas for implementing these recommendations for their presentation during COP23 in June at Bonn (Germany)

 

The Pan-African organization United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLG Africa)  shall organize on 7th April , 2017 in Rabat (Morocco), a workshop on access of local authorities of Africa to climate finance.
African cities called for the creation of a dedicated desk for Local Governments within the Green Climate Fund during COP 22. They expressed the hope that a capacity-building program would be set up to make them eligible for the Green Climate Fund and other climate finance instruments. African cities also proposed that UCLG Africa should be recognized as an implementing agency for the Green Climate Fund.The workshop will be an opportunity to provide concrete ideas for implementing these recommendations for their presentation during COP23 in June at Bonn (Germany).
